Recently, by the National Science Foundation of China, 2015, department of geological engineering has been awarded the National Natural Science Foundation of 5 projects (1 key project, 1 general project, 3 young professional projects) with total funding of 4.37 million yuan. The number of projects awarded has reached the highest history of geological engineering. This shows that the geological engineering teachers has focused on the national needs, and strive to explore scientific problems of dedication and enthusiasm, also explained that the domestic counterparts fully recognized the scientific proposition and research strength, showing that the basic research level of geological disciplines continue to improve. The next step of the college will vigorously support and actively organize the project team to earnestly implement the research program, and strive to produce a batch of landmark results.
